"The Trip"

On Saturday 03/24.01, at the A13 Mattress Factory, 290 MLK Jr. Dr., Atlanta, GA., a new excursion began for 1300 guest who attended the maiden voyage of "The Trip". An exciting passage produced and executed by Keith Brown aka kebo of Keith A. Brown Designs and The Hushbox, and conceptualized by Nia Hill, the owner of the Solstice Entertainment group, a company specializing in booking, promoting and marketing artists and co-owner of Strange Fruit Films, along with Phil Polk from the Marketing Department at Coca-Cola presented The "Trip", one of the most inclusive and eclectic events to hit Atlanta.

"The Trip" is designed to take you away from your job, your city, and any troubles by creating atmosphere, ambiance, and satisfy all of the social needs. Atlanta's movers and shakers have settled for the regular Saturday night party at the local club for too long. Those who didn't settle struggled to find the party that provides the perfect mix of people and music. Thus they find themselves hopping from club to club trying to find the right combination, hence the reason for "The Trip".

This journey employed a variety of multimedia talent to create the energy and atmosphere of Asia. The Kabuki Theater, an interactive theatre that combines dance, music, poetry, video and fashion performed. Other Live instrumentation was provided by DJ's Motomasa and Eve along with Upstream and Boombip. Video Art was curated by Nancy Solomon of Solomon Projects and featured the artistry of Fascia, Sara Hornbacher and Janet Biggs, along side the paintings of M. Roxanne Lowery and Robin Rezende.

what a few had to say about the trip

In all the years I have lived and gone out in Atlanta, I must say that was one of the best parties I have experienced. It was great to be a part of a multicultural and stimulating gathering common in most big cities and oftentimes lacking in ours. I know you and your party team busted your butts to put that together given the quality (and cost) of the effort.

You definitely delivered on your promise to give this city something new and provocative!! Great job, looking forward to taking off on the next "trip"............

Ciao, John Eckel

It was such a powerful event. It reminded me of Europe. My new friend Jesus pronounced Hey Zeus) who just moved here from Spain, said he was honored that he was invited and that it felt very international to him and for only being in this country for 2 weeks, it says a lot.

You have definitely given Atlanta and American's in general a feel of what diversity and what different cultures mean. Most important I think you have accomplished something way more superb, you have educated people to embrace different people from all walks of life, and talent and put them all under one roof. You have pointed out that there is a whole other world out there to be explored and that is something to be commended for.

Congrats!

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the party Saturday night. Everyone had a great time. The VIP room was a nice addition to the main party. Have a great week.

I just wanted to let you know I appreciate the invite to the best party I've been to for quite some time. You've got big style, fly taste and obvious appeal to a diversely smooth audience. A true Renaissance Man. Thanks for the Trip......

Pohdaddy

Congratulations!

The party was great! I think people had a wild and wondrous time - didn't it seem that way!!!

The videos looked amazing and really added a lot to the atmosphere. You were so clever to think of video art for the event. It was special.

Nancy Solomon, Solomon Projects

That was the greatest party ever man. It's almost an insult to call it a party, it was an "event" I saw you looking particularly fly in your brocade smoking type jacket, you were busy being smoozed. I had a great time and even my oh so jaded boyfriend didn't want to leave. Thanks man!!!

Christina Schubert

Nice party last Saturday... a friend told me we should check it out, but I didn't know what to expect.... and I was very surprised.. I didn't know good parties like that happen in ATL.

I have my own event company in Germany and do parties like the one Saturday. (maybe not all of them are that nice). Hope it happens again, because IÕll be around for a couple of months now..

Thanks,
Mr. Rene Gurka

I recently had met u at that flavorful event u threw on MLK street Saturday night. It was a great place to exchange conversation, ideas, music, and overall a great party to attend.

Meant to write you and say thanks for including me in your love-in. Really enjoyed it, especially Julie DexterÕs performance. amazing. Good to see you again and most of all to see you enjoying what you created.

That was definitely one of the best parties I have ever been to. The theme was tres chic and the guests were all very cool, and cool looking too! My props are going out to you today as you must be the best party planner this city has seen in a long, long time.

In fact, I have you ever considered making this into some type of monthly event? Or every other month or sumpin'? Obviously it would be expensive, but I for one, would be willing to donate to a hushbox party fund on a regular basis.

If a bunch of people all did the same, we could have a phat ass party every month or whatever, you would definitely be in charge of all the details, since you are so incredible good at it, but I would be happy, no ecstatic, to help you in any way I could.

Let me know your thoughts on the whole thing. Maybe monthly would be too much but every couple months would work??? I'm serious. If 1000 people all chipped in 30 bucks, we could do it up right again!! We could take trips all over the world! The next trip could be to Egypt or Rome or even Paris.

Tu sais que j'aime bien La France, n'est-ce pas? That way all these people who haven't had a chance to see most of our world can at least get a little flavor for it!

My favorite part: the drum people (kabuki theater???) they were totally kick ass and that chic was a bad ass!!

I hope that you have a wonderful day. Let your star lit personality shine baby!

Jill Landowski

I LOOOVE YOUUUUU!!!! every time I read a hushbox I get to scream out spurts of laughter! You have the gift of humor and thank you for sharing! The place looked great and was funky! You even had enough eye candy for both sexes! The girls appreciated it-typically we come with our team! You all gave honor to what it means to throw a party and have a good time. We shall talk of this until...the next one.

Ps-your support staff was fantabulous!

THANK YOU
Grace and peace, love and light
